A project that started when I was invited to be a guest artist for the 36 Days of Type challenge, to create the letter F. And, as I’m always looking for an excuse to experiment, I decided to build on the F and pursue the full series.
My goal was to push myself to find new, interesting and different interpretations of the letterforms (something that continually fascinates me). And while my priority first and foremost is always form, I also wanted to see how I could bring the letters to life with depth, texture and lighting to create a series of ‘letter sculptures’.
After sketching ideas in Procreate, each design was created using Illustrator & Photoshop (no 3D software). Continued below…
